The engineering practice behind Enki Product Development was not built in a garage. It was built inside Dyson, across more than sixty combined years of hands-on product development, and across more categories than most consultancies will see in a lifetime. The people who now form Enki's extended team are named inventors on some of the most recognisable consumer products of the last decade. They set up new categories from blank briefs, filed the patents that protect those products today, and shipped machines by the million. When Enki promises product leadership from concept to manufacture, this is the body of work that promise rests on.

The Categories We Helped Build and Expand
Dyson does not let its engineers specialise in one thing for long. The team that became Enki worked through that breadth on purpose, and the result is a group that has operated at the sharp end of almost every major Dyson category.
In floorcare, most of the enki team first met when they were part of the core team that developed a number of corded floorcare products that includes the Big Ball Kinetic, a flagship cylinder vacuum whose self-righting specification, human-machine interface, cyclone bin architecture, and thermal management system. Later some team members also were was responsible for helping with the launch of Dyson's wet and dry cleaners, owning programmes from concept through tooling and into mass production.
In environmental control, many of the team worked developed and patented core engineering on the Air Multiplier bladeless fan platform, technology that underpins an entire product line still on shelves today. Inside Dyson's New Product Innovation group, the team also built a multi-environment Zonal Purification testing methodology for a head-mounted purifier programme, including the breathing manikin test rig and the design of experiments campaign that lifted delivery system efficiency from around thirty percent to over ninety-nine percent.
In haircare, some of the team members helped set the category up from first principles, taking Dyson from zero heritage in personal care to a credible market position. Members of the team are named inventors on the Dyson Airwrap and the Dyson Corrale straightener, two of the most commercially successful personal care products of the last decade, and hold multiple additional patents across the haircare engineering programme.
In audio and wearables, Ben and other team members helped establish an entirely new category for a brand with no prior audio heritage, proving that Dyson's engineering approach could transfer into unfamiliar territory and still produce a competitive product.
In hand drying, the members of the team played a key role in the development of the Dyson Airblade hand dryer and the Dyson Airblade Tap, products that redefined the category for commercial washrooms worldwide.
And in kitchen products, members of the team hold patents for innovations that sit alongside the Dyson name in a category the brand has explored more quietly.
The Innovation
The Patents and the Launches
Dyson is a patent-heavy business because Dyson is an integration-heavy business. The team that became Enki carries a meaningful share of that intellectual property record. Members of the team are named inventors on patents covering Air Multiplier fan technology, the Airwrap styling tool, the Corrale straightener, and multiple haircare and kitchen product innovations. Those filings are not academic exercises. Each one protects a product that is still generating revenue, and each one represents an engineering decision that was novel enough to clear the patent bar.
On the launch side, the same group has shipped many of Dyson's wet and dry floorcare products into the world. That means owning the unglamorous middle of the development cycle: tolerance stacks, supplier qualification runs, test failures at three in the morning, the pre-PVT push, and the first golden sample that finally clears every gate. It also means working inside one of the most demanding stage-gate processes in consumer products, where evidence is expected at every review, shortcuts are not tolerated, and the standard of proof for a shipping decision is absolute.

Dyson's stage-gate discipline teaches you to find the problems early, when they are cheap to fix, and to prove your solutions with evidence rather than optimism. Every Enki programme inherits that discipline. Second, in integration. Dyson products work because the mechanical, electrical, thermal, and aesthetic systems are developed as one thing, not bolted together at the end. Enki's team learned to think that way by default, and it is the single biggest reason our clients' products arrive at manufacture without the last-minute surprises that plague most development programmes. Third, in manufacturing fluency. Having shipped products at Dyson's scale, the team understands the difference between a design that looks right on screen and a design that survives a 50,000-unit production run. DFM is not a late-stage checkbox for us. It is a discipline that runs through the programme from day one.
The categories change from project to project. The discipline does not.
